I. General Questions
What is Game and Save?
Game and Save is an internet-based video game store whose sole purpose in life is to deliver you the greatest video game selection ever compiled (including current and classic games, consoles, accessories & more). On top of that, we guarantee to pay you the MOST MONEY for all your new/used video game related items, as well as to allow you the option of trading in your old video games for other games/systems, etc of equal value.
How long has Game and Save been around?
Game and Save began as "BuyingUsedGames.com" back in 2007. Originally, we focused primarily on paying top dollar for their video game related items. But over time, we have been blessed enough to be able to expand into being able to sell/trade video games - as well as do lots of other fun things.
Where are you located?
Game and Save is located in Toms River, NJ.
Do you have a local store?
Not yet, but we have already begun planning on opening one in the near future.
Can I get a job with you guys?
Currently we are fully staffed and have no need of additional employees. On top of that, we have a waiting list of friends/family that are wanting to enroll with us once a spot becomes available. So sorry, currently we have a full house. However, that doesn't mean that you aren't able to be paid by Game and Save. Check out the Refer A Friend section to learn how you can start earning some extra cash and free video games without ever leaving your home.
What are some of your favorite video games?
We are big fans of the entire Final Fantasy series. On top of that, we enjoy playing any Resident Evil, Mega Man, or Tomb Raider game.
II. Buying Video Games
How is it that you guys are able to sell video games so much cheaper than other stores?
Basically, we haven't been overcome with greed like the rest of the video game market out there. Do we turn a profit? Yes. But unlike other places, we aren't here to force you to break the bank in order to get a little video game enjoyment. Our hope is that by having lower prices than our competitors, plus FREE SHIPPING on everything in the store, that you will become life-long customers in our store.
Some of the games are "back-ordered". What does this mean?
"Back-Ordered" means that the game is currently not in stock, but is expected to be replenished within a couple of days. You have the option of purchasing a game even if it is back-ordered simply because there is a quick turn-around when it comes to restocking our supply of video games.
What about the games marked as "Pre-Order"?
A Pre-Order is just how it sounds. It's an option for you to reserve your copy of a video game before it hits the streets. This is a great option for anyone who knows for sure that they are going to buy an upcoming video game title. Some video games are more popular than others, and there are times that the video game companies underestimate how many of a particular game should be manufactured. Because of that, popular titles are often sold out for long periods of time. In order to guarantee you get a copy of the game you are looking for, pre-ordering the game is a valuable option that you may want to consider. All pre-ordered games are shipped out the day they are made available to the public.
What is the difference between buying something "brand new" versus "used"?
A video game that is marked as being "BRAND NEW" is just that - 100% factory sealed, never been used/opened, in perfect condition wrapping. A "USED" game is anything that has been opened - meaning the factory seal has been broken. All of our used games are in top-notch condition, as we only sell items that are clean, tested and without blemish. Basically we put ourselves in our customer's shoes. Would we want to buy the video game that we are selling in it's current condition? The answer to that question is a resounding "YES!" for every used video game item.
Do used games include original case and manual?
Depending on which system you are purchasing the game for, it may or may not include an original case/manual. For more information on what game does or does not include case/manual, check out the "BUY" section of our site. I can tell you now though, that any controller we sell used includes just the complete controller and any necessary parts, such as a battery pack for an Xbox 360 controller. Also, every video game console we sell is complete with AV/Power Cords (or whatever other cables are necessary to play), and a controller. Again all systems have been played/tested and work perfectly.
If you have any additional questions in regards to purchasing video games and equipment from our store, please email us.
III. Selling Your Video Games
How is it that you guys are able to pay "the most money" for video games items, as you so daringly claim?
We are bold enough to say that we pay the most for video games, systems, controllers, etc. - because quite frankly, it's the truth. Unlike other stores who try to low-ball you with their offers on your games, we simply pay the most. We don't feel like we need to offer you $20.00 store credit for a game and then turn around and sell it right in front of you for $55.00. I'm sure most of you know of which store I am referencing to. We aren't out to make a 200% profit on your games - and because of again, not being overcome with greed, we are willing and able to give you more buck for your bang.
I have lots of assorted video game related things. What exactly do you buy?
If it's video game related, chances are we will buy it. Some of the things we buy are:
Video Games
Controllers
Consoles
Accessories
Strategy Guides
Video Game Soundtracks
Action Figures
Magazines
Posters
Key Chains
Collectibles
Memory Cards
Again, if it's pertaining to video games - chances are we will buy it. We don't care what condition the games you are selling are in - as long as you accurately describe that to us when telling us what you are selling. For more information on how to sell games, visit the "SELL" section of our site.
Who pays for shipping when I sell my games?
Game and Save has store-wide free shipping - which means that when you purchase anything from us, it's free. The same goes when we purchase something from you - we will pay for the shipping. We have pre-paid labels that we are able to generate and email to you, so that you won't have to waste your time at the Post Office or whatever it is you would go to. The only thing you have to do is package up your item, print out the label we email you, tape it to your package and drop it off at the appropriate shipping company.
What forms of payment do you have if I decide to sell you my games?
We will either pay you via a written check, or with Paypal - whichever is more convenient for you. Please note that we are not responsible for Paypal transaction fees if you do decide to use that form of payment.
When will I get paid for my games?
We send payment to our customers the same day we receive their package in the mail. Basically the process on our end is to receive your package, to go through it to make sure everything is there, and then to test everything. If it checks out OK, then your payment is sent immediately. If not, we will communicate with you as to whatever problem has arisen with your package.
IV. Trading Games
I'm sick of having to trade in 3 current games at my local store just to get 1 in return. How are you guys different?
We feel your pain. You probably got a hint of this already, but in case you didn't I will say it again - we don't like those other video game companies out there. They have massive mark-ups on their products, they low-ball people who sell anything to them, and they simply squeeze the life out of you when you try to trade-in anything. At Game and Save, we don't do that. If you visit the "TRADE" section of our website, you will see that we have a form that you can fill out where you will be able to list what you have to trade, and to tell us what you want in exchange for that trade. Forcing you to trade in 3 current games to get 1 current game in return is not our style. For example, if you purchased 3 video games within the last month - and they are decent titles, then we aren't going to try to pull a fast one on you and say you have to trade those games in just to get a new game in return. The reason why - they are still current games and have some value to them. Now, as time passes, the value of games does decrease dramatically. In fact, as soon as you open a brand new game, the value of it drops. So don't be surprised if it takes you more than 3 let's say, Nintendo NES games, to trade in for an Xbox 360 game. Again, we are all about fairness and not taking advantage of our customers. We are firm believers that by dealing with customers fairly, we will be able to greatly increase our customer base - and thus have a thriving store.
Who pays for shipping on the trade-ins?
It's really a matter of what you are trading in. Usually the customer pays for shipping on their end, and we will pay for shipping on our end. However, if you have an issue with shipping, or feel that the costs of shipping are too expensive on your end - we are always willing to work something out to better your experience with Game and Save.
What am I able to trade-in?
Anything video game related. If you want to trade in games for a console, you can. If you want to trade in a console for some games, you can do that as well. As long as what you have pertains to video games, you are able to trade-in.
V. Renting Video Games
What am I able to rent from Game and Save
Anything that we are selling in our store is available to be rented. Whether it is a game, set of games, a console, controller, accessory - whatever it is, you are able to rent it. Currently we are developing our rental system, and we hope to have it available to the public by January 1, 2010. One thing I can tell you about renting video games, etc from us is that you will never pay a late fee. You keep what you rent for as long as you want, and depending on which renting package you purchase - you will be able to trade-in as often as you see fit. More information on renting video games will become available as the the rental system is put into effect.
